Thank goodness for our UK NHS, or I would be ashes on the shore.

MasterLee · 56-60, M
Thanks obama
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MasterLee That’s when the prices started skyrocketing.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I am lucky I live in Australia, broke my ankle 10 years ago and needed a operation - 3 days later out of hospital - did not pay a cent
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@nedkelly That’s the way Prucare was here about 35 years ago.

For most people the answer is probably not. The feds told hospitals to make bills easier to understand, and they did just the opposite. The insurance companies are using the increased confusion to deny paying more line items that they paid in the past. It's obvious they are in a cabal to make the end user pay more. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Research fees against your bill or hire a firm that checks your bill for errors or inflated prices.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MikeSp Doctors and and other people who work at hospitals cannot decipher these bills.

This is exactly why I dont have insurance. Insurance that is availible to me is incredibly expensive and doesnt cover anything. Ill pay out of pocket one way or another.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
I count myself of very lucky to be in the UK with our NHS..they do us a great service with limited resources.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
which is why you should only have local insurance agents
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MarineBob I have insurance from my retirement.
greenmountaingal · 80-89, F
It depends on what kind of insurance you have, what it covers and What's wrong with you. I have an HMO that covers a lot.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
You need something like the UK NHS where this sort of thing is not an issue
This is just a general comment, and it's my opinion. Obama care, aka the Affordable Healthcare Act', which was forced down our throats, was done with NO TRANSPARENCY, and had the support of an imbecile, that being Nancy Pelosi, who in her wisdom, or lack of, stated (paraphrasing) "we'll pass the Bill THEN see what's in it!" Grubner (Architect) though I didn't care for him; in one respect had us pegged...Stupid he said. We the American people SHOULD have been afforded a vote on this obscenity, which if you've looked at, is not was not all about healthcare. And "free healthcare"...many espouse it, and they pay pretty high taxes; but in closing if our system , though not perfect, then why do so many people from all over the Globe, come here for treatments? Again, just my opinion.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
The imaging and interpretations were probably done by a doctor out of her network. That has happened to me before but it is appealable under certain circumstances. In my case, I was unconscious and couldn't do the research myself to see if everything they were doing was covered.
