I have the gift of gab, so I just talk to the person behind me or in front of me.
Mguinm · 51-55, F
@ChatterinSeuss I can picture that!
ChatterinSeuss · 61-69, M
@Mguinm hey gotta make the time roll by smoother, and make people comfortable. Many people get irritated. Why get upset over something that cannot be avoided would be senseless.

If I'm the only one in line!

YES as I will not use the self service

Not really as I don't like small talk. I want to buy my items and get out.
Mguinm · 51-55, F
Only if a handsome guy is in front of me.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Never in my whole life. It's claustrophobic and I always manage to get sandwiched in line between someone with horrible body odor and a loud talker.
MaryJanine · 70-79, F
Or they're on a cell phone, or dealing with a kid - and a kid that's screaming for something in the checkout lane. (I had one behind me like that. Her father told her, "No, honey" when she was crinkling whatever she had in a bag that was unopened. I had just gotten my order on the counter when I heard the bag rip open and whatever it was spilled all over the floor. And her parent only said, "Well, what did I TELL you?")

No! How is this a question? Are there people who enjoy this? This is an automated process for me! I just clock out and go though the motions
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I don't mind too much, if it is moving well.
pedrohedgerow · 61-69, M
Yes,when the kids of a fellow queuer have been playing in a world of their own.Priceless.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I don't mind. I like to look at all the weirdos who live in my neighborhood and see what they are buying. I don't get out much....

Only if the chick in front of me is looking fine. :)

No - my sister-in-law is a grocery checker and she is not allowed to check out her family members (which includes me). I think that's stupid.
ChatterinSeuss · 61-69, M
@MaryJanine I have seen family members and friends get away with items not being scanned and that my friend is stealing. not saying your sister in law would do that. but I have seen it with my eyes.
MaryJanine · 70-79, F
I guess that's why they made the rule up. But when I knew she was on the register, I never went in. Not after the day I checked out at the register next to hers. and she (newly married) announced to the service desk and sundry all that "She's my sister-in-law". I forget the reason why she said that, but she came home shortly after that and told my brother (who told me)about the rule.
