Yes....in a Catholic grammar school in the 60s. Oppressively strict and a rubber strap was used across the bottom of some unfortunate pupil on an almost daily basis.

Back in the day this was a pretty normal thing. I got spanked, slapped, and otherwise physically abused on a more or less regular basis.

I did, and everyone I knew did. Hated it at the time, but looking back it really wasn't that big a deal.
