Who was your craziest / most interesting teacher(both)

Mine was my Year 10 Science Teacher Mr Mcgee, He was always encouraging us to think about every aspect of the world around us. To question everything.
He was always coming out with Phrases such as, ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny?
And he often quoted Professor Julius Sumner Miller, "Why is it so?"

Macca - Home room teacher between years 7 to 9.

Never sat at his desk always at the front of class.

If you gave him cause to yell at you. Not only would you go deaf but the entire school would know your in trouble.

If he got bored during a lesson he'd take us out to play kickball.

If you finished your work for the lesson you could play computer games.

He was the only teacher in school with written consent by the parents to hit their children if needed. He had a specially made reinforced bat for the occasion which we dubbed the beach bat. And if you were ever struck by the thing you got to graffiti your name on it.

A week into grade 7 Shane H got moved into Macca's class for being to unruly for Mrs Blackham. He tried to kick Macca in the face. Macca caught Shanes foot and lifted him up high one handed and plonked the boy head first into the sulu bin.

When Shane and 3 other boys were failing year 10 it was Macca who got them apprenticeships with local tradesman.

@Thevy29 Sounds like a great teacher. Strict but fair and obliging👍

Had three. First was the my first science teacher in high school and he also taught me in years nine and ten. Like yours, he was big into questioning everything.

Second was one of my year ten maths teachers (we were lucky that year, only had three, year before we had about six and I think only one of them was qualified to teach maths). But this guy was really laid back but actually taught us some real maths. Plus he was always good to bludge a ciggie off lol.

Last was my Abnormal Psych lecturer. He'd previously completed a two year sabbatical in a Thai Buddhist Temple. He was the coolest and most laid back dude I have ever met, as well as being a first class lecturer.

Sorry, but had to include all of them.

@Bushranger That's great. I think asking questions like these can bring back almost forgotten memories. Good memories.
My worse teacher was my Year 9 English Teacher. Every Monday morning, after the first month of school, he would give me 6 cuts on each hand for not doing my homework over the week end. 6 on each hand!
I call him the worse but in fact I was my own worse enemy for not doing my homework

He was social sciences Professor. He was way too old and had obvious signs of Alzheimer's. He couldn't see, distinguish between us, hear properly..and he had this handkerchief he blew his nose in then wet it to wipe the board.

He also brought a dagger once from the ottoman empire. No one was paying attention to his lesson and all sudden he got the dagger out and started waving at us.

@Miram I was laughing read that. You would go to his classes wondering what silliness would this Geriatric get up to next.😄

@Gusman I loved the guy. Also no one ever scored higher than twenty percent in his class.

He done great works in his youth. I think it's good he was allowed to teach. He passed away two years after that.

Craziest would have to be a college biology professor who told us the most effective way to spread Anthrax...in 2002...
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Myzery Wow. That was crazy!

Craziest ?
Probably the Chemistry master.
He'd demonstrate; lecture; then watch you do the same.

Pops; bangs; explosions; setting gas taps alight by accident !
It was never dull that's for sure !
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 Yes, Science/Chemistry was great. Except the time we had to dissect a Mouse/Rat?
