Herbivores need massive digestive tracts to extract any nutrients from food that has very little. These animals have multiple stomachs.

@HoraceGreenley It's an incredible evolutionary adaptation that, while impressive, took centuries to develop could have been entirely avoided if the koala had decided to eat pretty much anything other than eucalyptus.
