For those who go sockless (wear shoes without socks) how old were you when you first did that, and why?

I have all was wore shoes without socks. It was just easy to put the shoes on quick and go to town. We couldn't wear shoes in the house at all.

When I was in college, many many years ago, that was the style: Bass weejuns and no socks.
