What is it about social media that makes teenagers abandon all common sense, reason and logic?

@metaldog People at that age seem to be hit-or-miss. There's no "middle ground" with them, they're either ragingly stupid and have all the logic of a baked potato, or else they're brilliant and creative and seem like they're lightyears ahead of most adults.

@metaldog I was a fucked up teenager. I got straight A's in school and I stayed away from alcohol and drugs, and I had a great relationship with my dad. But I was insane and violent and had a problem starting fires. I used to roam around the city at night throwing homemade quarter sticks in garbage cans and getting into fights with strangers outside of nightclubs and shit.

@metaldog True, but when I was a kid we didn’t go around eating detergent, giving ourselves chemical burn, drinking boiling water, letting someone convince us to top ourselves, or give each other pics of our junk!

@NJA82 Like older people didn't do stupid shit as children? My 79 year old grandmother nearly killed herself trying to jump across roofs when she was a teenager, she drank cough syrup to try to get high once. My father is 59 and he's done waaaaay worse shit than kids do these days, he and his friend Mark Wilke used to burglarize fireworks stores in Missouri and use what they stole to blow up mailboxes, they would get high on Vallium and go throw M-80's under cop cars in Bollingbrook.

@NJA82 I'm blind in one eye because of an explosion but that's from childhood. I was born in Yemen during one of the many stages of the ongoing civil war and a Saudi militiaman threw a homemade grenade that blew up very close to my face and blinded me in one eye.

We used to use a drain pipe to fire a firework into a bin full of fireworks.
