I'd like to go there but would need a little guidance in avoiding the biting wildlife. A lot to see...they've had a drought and until that's over it'd be kinda heart-breaking to see dying animals...
@Nimbus They get to leave their prison cells for awhile...it probably seems like a bit of sweet freedom even though they are working, to be outdoors all day long.
@Nimbus He and his wife were great people looking for a new adventure. Something different. We had all gone separate ways after college so it's not like unusual to lose track of one another. I have to assume they went on to live great lives there.
I was a visitor for a couple of times and worked with some amazing individuals. Limited view but - huge natural resources and potential to be a great statesman in ASEAN but seems to be more inclined towards China now. It needs to do better to protect Barrier Reef and maybe attitude towards Aborigines and their culture.
@Nimbus Yes in general. I have not had any negative experiences as mentioned on some social sites. In my opinion, negativeness is a world phenomenon than to any specific country.

Big island or small continent. Strange either way.
It's a great country - my favourite part is Western Australia - especially around Dunsborough and Margaret River - fantastic wineries along Caves Road 🙂
@Rain95 I totally get why you like the culture of your homeland, but unless you've actually seen what other places have to offer, saying they aren't as beautiful as yours is a bit presumptuous.
Beautiful regions, from stunning desert, to magnificent rainforests, ugly cities, people are nice - but not very committed to their country's betterment.
