I'd like to go there but would need a little guidance in avoiding the biting wildlife. A lot to see...they've had a drought and until that's over it'd be kinda heart-breaking to see dying animals...

@cherokeepatti Oh my!

I am sure Ned could be your guide :)

@cherokeepatti we are always in a drought here

@Nimbus I'd like to go to that opal mining town where there are underground homes carved by mining opals....that'd be something cool to see...Coober Pedy and visit Tasmania.

@PlumBerries Imagine what Australia would be like if it got a reasonable amount of rain....right now there are Australian firefighters helping fight fires in California, which has set a new record this summer for large wildfires.

@cherokeepatti Oh yea, I think I saw something about that on TV.

@Nimbus We need all the help we can get. They have prisoners out there working for $1 an hour cutting brush and doing other things.

@cherokeepatti where I live If no one had told me we were in a drought, I would never have thought we were. Summer will be bad here though like always
Nimbus · M
@cherokeepatti ??

Really?
That can't be right.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus yes they use prisoner volunteers from minimum security prisons
Nimbus · M
@cherokeepatti Ahaaa. 'volunteers'.
I guess they get certain 'privileges'.

@Nimbus They get to leave their prison cells for awhile...it probably seems like a bit of sweet freedom even though they are working, to be outdoors all day long.
