What's an informal term to describe a female which isn't regarded as condescending/sexist?

For example, "chick", " babe", "broad", all seem to have negative connotations. But " dude", "guy" etc seem okay.

What say ye?

i think she gets more colloquial names after marriage. Where’s the missus? your better half? your lovely bride? etc.
