They can actually be one and the same. Thinking too much without nuance can also be called thinking too little. Perhaps it isn't the quantity of thinking, as the quality of thinking. You can think of something alot but if it's in a 1 dimensional way well, it will not help. You can think of something not very much, but if you're aware of the richness of the object, problem, topic, etc, well atleast that's a start, and you can take it up again later to develop it.

And perhaps how I've treated this question is an example. I've gone beyond the dichotomy the question has posed, to think outside the box.

thinking too much, probably the best one is thinking and immediately doing the thought

There both issues. I know plenty that think to little and spiral downwards out of control.

I myself think too much. An it’s an issue at times as well.

The solution is being able to identify which you are if either and make it work for you. But at the same time also know it can be self destructive an work to improve it.

It’s a balancing act.

Thinking too much causes stress, lack of sleep, etc, but it can also be great with problem solving and accomplishing great things. I wouldn't want an idle mind to be honest.

thinking too little.

For me its thinking too much. I create situations in my mind that lead me to having really high anxiety.

The less the awareness, the less the trouble.

I deal with the general public on a daily basis and I'd have to say without a doubt it's thinking too little (hell, the majority I see don't think at all). It never ceases to astound me the number of people who wander about absolutely clueless and oblivious to what's going on around them. In fact we were actually told by management that it was part of our job to protect the customers from themselves...what does that say?

Both can be issues

Can I get back to you on this?
