@SW-User Well, you know how this is. We are just people from all over the world talking to each other about everything, and sometimes we might appear to be more triggered than we actually are. I doubt Quizz will lose much sleep over any of this.

@badapple I am not sure it would matter what, or how they they would be referred to. Mother's for one. You are applying modern pronoun standards to a event that would have stared at the beginning of time. And would have long been accepted as how life comes in to the world. But that is not to say that females have wombs and males do not. He brings life into the world, she impregnates him. It does not, by definition make him a female and her a male.

The masculine/feminine roles (which suck) or ancient times would not change. Just how life comes into the world as that is the topic.

We are not that bad........... we just don't know how to shop. The whole 'shopping thing' kind of spoiled it for the "hunter gatherer" group. Now we just sit around grunting and farting............and asking pretty lil things like you for a beer once in a while.

@Quizzical If it had been so from the beginning of time, and men were also [b]physically[/b] weaker and had a different sexual drive maybe. But that would be a lot of “ifs”. The only premise has been men and childbirth.

If we merely say that men now give birth then the population would be wiped out because men don't have the capacity or biology to do so and would all die attempting to give birth.

So, we have to say that men would have always given birth from the beggining.

Which leads naturally to psychological changes to accompany the primary and secondary physical changes.

In essence, men become women and vice versa...

@Quizzical When these type of “what if” questions are asked, I often imagine just that situation.
Imagine we all woke up tomorrow with men physically capable of giving birth and women no longer being able. It doesn’t address the previous roles of men and women socially, but it’s simply a biological change. That may or may not have been what the OP was considering, but it’s probably what some of us were thinking when we replied.
