I did!! And the title was great, as was the book, but I forgot to back it up on my computer, and lost it all. And I believe it was my best work, and I was so frustrated and upset, I just gave it up. I didn’t believe that I could have gone back and written it as well, as I had been so inspired. Besides, I had so much other work to take care of, I could not do both.

@YouCanCallMeDan I can only write on here, as my eyes are too bad now. I am having trouble seeing as I write this.
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
@LadyGrace you could make it an audiobook
LadyGrace · 70-79
Oh my. Not with all the thousands of hours and content. @YouCanCallMeDan

I’ve ghost written and consulted with many writers over the years ,it’s a tough world out there for modern writers , unfortunately it takes an unfortunate or tragic happening in someone’s life sometimes , like breakups or breaking legs , or loosing a job , to give you commitment to and dedicate or finish a book , unless you are able to take time out and separate yourself from the outside world for two to three hour a day or even a week

@prawntobewild it’s a tough one , if your paid to fill out and give substance to elements of historical fact for example then I’m ok with ghost writing passages ect , but in bio books I think you should be credited , but I think if your write in different genres then a ghost authors name is fine , but I would not sell books if I write as myself and would make my job very different
prawntobewild · 36-40, F
@Wishingwellguy why wouldnt you sell books? And I agree that if you are just a historical consultant then its different to actually forming the sentences and story and someone else taking credit for it.

@prawntobewild with my position withiin my job of trust and being impartial and neutral to life , culture and religion ect , I would be seen to Have an opinion , even if writing fictional books
Yeah. It started as more of an autobiographical account of my life from 15-17 which was the worst time of my life in every way possible. I had around.40k words but didn’t really go back to it because it generally depressed me a lot everytime I went back to read it...when I was 18 I started to change it into a fictional story with a happier ending. It’s been around a year since I’ve worked on it but I hope to finish it over the summer now that I have some free time on my hands.

@Insomniac100 its a good way to express personal and difficult experiences, especially through a fictional character that you like because you can be more objective and probably less hard on yourself.

I am writing ideas down for a graphics novel, which is going to take me a couple of years to put together, illustrations and all. What’s holding me back? Other than study and work, the kind of story I’m putting together is a bit controversial.

Yes, and yes and no... Stopping me, humm lazyness?
Kazuya69 · 31-35, M
@prawntobewild humm that might be doable..
prawntobewild · 36-40, F
Although the plotting phase is hard, one can generally write 500 words in 20-45 minutes. Thats about the same time it takes some people to take a shit. you can even do it on your phone and save it in notes, on bus journeys, on the train - whatever. before you know it those words will build up!

@prawntobewild if you ever want to help i will not be opposed

Yes. I never finished it, because, although I have a lot to say, I have no talent for story telling, and no education in the art of writing. It's just not as easy as reading is.
Dang. Who knew? Not me.

@Wishingwellguy I started and quit when I was 18. I'm 74 now. I don't have a book in me.
prawntobewild · 36-40, F
@Serenitree teach yourself. I did.
Serenitree · F
@prawntobewild I'm no longer interested. Life has intervened. It has taught me that not everyone is meant to write novels. Some are essayists, some are humorists, and there are people who do best with anecdotes.
