Have you ever tried to write a book? Why didn't you finish it? What is stopping you?

I am writing ideas down for a graphics novel, which is going to take me a couple of years to put together, illustrations and all. What’s holding me back? Other than study and work, the kind of story I’m putting together is a bit controversial.
