Are you defining leftists as everyone who thinks Trump is an idiot? Because there are people on the right who think so too.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@WoodyAq Puck and I have spoken at length about this, he believes a "leftist" is basically anyone who isn't a neocon, which is also synonym with a communist. He'll even tell you he thinks gay rights activists are commies, despite the fact that communists hate gays.
WoodyAq · M
@BlueMetalChick But I'm a neo-Con and I don't think Puck and I see eye-to-eye. And I have quite a few gay friends, so I'm not sure how that enters into it.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@WoodyAq You're a neocon? Are you from America? Because I can't see you as being a neoconservative in the United States. That would mean you were a proponent of invading Iraq and Afghanistan and that you believe the Affordable Care Act should be repealed in favor of the Bush-era "free market system" of healthcare, and that you're against abortion and gay marriage, and think trickle down economics are a great idea.
WoodyAq · M
@BlueMetalChick Yes on Afghanistan and on Iraq (although not the way Bush did it), no on repealing the affordable care act, agnostic on abortion, attended a gay wedding two weeks ago, and no on trickle down economics (But yes to economic freedom).
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@WoodyAq Well then you're misguided on the Middle East but otherwise I would not call you a neoconservative. Maybe a classical conservative? The thing is, "conservative" comes from "fiscal conservation" which is fancy talk for "let's not spend lots of money on shit we don't have to." Yet conservatives in the world today, or at least here in the United States, care nothing about fiscal conservation. They pretend they do, when they screech and yell about how we need to stop spending money on welfare programs, yet they're fine with spending seven hundred billion dollars a year on an already absurdly bloated military budget.

@WoodyAq well said Woody
@BlueMetalChick Wow! You trying to set a world record for lying?
WoodyAq · M
@BlueMetalChick Oh I agree with you on the fiscal conservation side. It's been tragically abandoned by modern Republicans. For believers in a minimal state, though, defense expenditures up to the level necessary for defense, is very cool.

On Afghanistan we had no choice ... we were attacked.

Iraq was problematic back to 1991, and needed to be resolved, but it didn't need to be resolved exclusively by the US, specifically in 2003.

And I think the appropriate application of NATO force in Syria, before the Russians fucked it up beyond recognition, would have saved 100's of '000s of lives.

But I read the Weekly Standard religiously, and it is the Neo-Con paper of record.
ScabbyHeart · 46-50, M
@WoodyAq fiscally conservative?? the republicans managed to vote in a 1 trillion dollar unfunded tax cut (not future spending cuts bs to fund now cuts... ) and thats conservative? really? writing a check that your kids have to cash is conservative? wtf?
educate me... obviously im a stupid independent voter who dosent drink the win at all cost koolade...
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@puck61 Name one lie I told. Go on, just one.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@WoodyAq When the hell were we attacked by Afghanistan?
WoodyAq · M
@BlueMetalChick September 11, 2001. World Trade Center in New York, Pentagon in Washington. It made the news at the time. You might have heard about it.
