Why do people hate black cats

Like I have a black cat and my cousin says what is wrong with you why you get black cat. And some people is scared of her they says it is bad luck. But she is not bad luck she is the best cat really her color should not matter.

@bijouxbroussard Found her as little itty bitty kitten hiding under a trash bin. Her eyes where barely open. She ran towards me while her litter mates ran away. I knew she was meant for me. Had her for five years.
