What do you do to overcome writer's block?

morrgin · F Best Comment
Go to a busy public place and "people watch". Think really hard about everything you see every which way without being shy about it. Put quick stories together as fast as possible no matter how ridiculous they might be. It's in your own head and no one can hear or see your thoughts but you. Then go somewhere really quiet and don't push yourself to think about anything in particular. Just let your mind drift where it wants to go. Something should come to you then.

@morrgin lots of really good ideas but I love yours. Thank you.

Walk away. Go relax with nature in the bush. With a notebook because the ideas will spew forth and I need to record them immediately.
Relaxation is the answer for me.

@Gusman you're so lucky. I really need to budge that cork!

@littlepinklotus Living in or near nature has it's advantages over living in Suburbia. No cars, no noise, most important, no people to distract one.
Sit in the bush and watch the critters as they go about their daily activities.
Snake slithers by. Echidna foraging. Slendid Fairy Wren flitting hither and Thither, Kangaroo giving me the eye, Bob Tail Goanna sunning itself on the rocky outcrop, Hawk vigilant above, Frogs having a tete e tete. Noisy frogs. Bull Ants looking to ambush their next victims. Pelicans circling high above.

@Gusman I'd say you're blessed.

I listen to music to feel something that will help produce my feelings onto a page.
littlepinklotus · 41-45, F
@Lux127 I've done the same or even looked at random pics on the internet

I turn a 180 and write an erotic story
littlepinklotus · 41-45, F
@silentwriter180 that's an interesting way clear your mind. 😊

littlepinklotus · 41-45, F

@littlepinklotus I think I read somewhere about overcoming writer's block by reading something.

I've felt in the past like my mental creativity is better around the time I'm engaged in reading stuff.

I've lost interest in writing after an editor told me that she "quite liked it"
am verbally challenged 100% of the time...😔
