Has anyone else not have had their wisdom teeth pulled?

I was talking to some clown 🤡 I work with ( he’s annoying) lol and asked him why he wasn’t at work for the last 3 days. He said he had his wisdom teeth pulled , he’s 26 and I said how painful was it? He asked me well don’t you know? I said no, I’ve never had mine pulled ( I’m in my late 30’s) they never bothered me. He couldn’t believe it. I’m like WTF is it really that odd?

I had the left ones out when I was young. They were impacted. The right ones I kept for years. I didn't have any problems for a long time, but eventually they became a trap for food and germs. My gums were always inflamed. Once they were out, the gums healed. I think that's one of the reasons that we are encouraged not to keep them because the problems I had were not uncommon. If they aren't causing you any problems, leave well enough alone. Another thing I've heard before is that hygienists hate them because they are difficult to clean around. LOL

@vader2112 dude, you’re obviously an expert on this subject I learned a lot from what you said. I guess I’m not out of the woods yet but I don’t have a high pain threshold so if I ever get even a warning sign those mofo’s are getting yanked

@GBPackersFan Thank you for the compliment, but I'm not expert. I just paid attention to what hygienists and dentists said over the years. I'm glad it was helpful! For the impacted teeth, I was put under general anesthesia. For the other side, just novocaine. It wasn't that bad, but I tool the afternoon off work and rested.
Consider yourself lucky. Wisdom teeth are quite painful, and most of us have had them pulled out.
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@JustLikeGreta true but I’ve had a few kidney stones so that makes up for it 😂
YoMomma ·
I had all mine till recently i had two upper molars removed due to cavities

My wisdom teeth didn't bother me and they were all facing horizontal in my mouth when you looked at the xrays. I got them pulled last year. It was a
horrible experience, I didn't recover until a week afterwards and couldn't open my mouth fully until at least two weeks after. 😭
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@SW-User wow! I’m sorry it was such a long and painful ordeal for you. I guess the key is if they grow in crookedly and press against other teeth?
marsbar · F
It depends how big your mouth is. If there’s no overcrowding, you don’t have to remove your wisdom teeth.
marsbar · F
@GBPackersFan Lol. I don’t doubt it.
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@marsbar yakety yak all the time. I’m worse than a teenage girl 😜
marsbar · F
@GBPackersFan I believe you. 😛
Haven't had to get mine removed, it all depends on the person. How theirs grow in and if it impedes on other teeth.
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@Snowvixen thank for the info and I recall you being a sports fan also lol
@GBPackersFan you're welcome. Sure am, mostly college football. Roll tide!😁

I had mine out my senior year of high school. They broke my jaw doing so. You should feel lucky. I have had kidney stones too. They hurt far worse.

It depends on the person. I had to have four cut out as a surgical procedure. It took a few weeks to heal and I looked like a chipmunk with a mouth full of food. I've seen other people have them out like a regular tooth extraction.
fallnhope · 36-40, F
I only have two.... They're growing in sideways but not hitting my other teeth. My dentist said I was fine with leaving them so I did.
Tminus6453 · M
I had mine pulled at 23....As long as they come in straight and they dont bother you no reason to pull them i guess
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@Tminus6453 oh it has to do with the alignment of them thanks I had no idea 💡
cycleman · 61-69, M
I had one pulled in my mid 30's. still have the other three.
I haven't had mine taken out. It all depends on the person's mouth.
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@Nadie oh I wasn’t aware of that I was going to google about it but no need you answered it lol
Cowboybob · M

You are so lucky. It was almost as bad as childbirth.
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 my God, the pain you women have to deal with
😭 I screamed for 12 hours throughout labour. I seriously was delirious and don’t remember most of it. I needed my mother with me so bad. No one helped me if felt like.

I had all 4 teeth pulled out at 19, due to being on my mom's insurance.
I had them pulled out on a Friday and had the weekend to recover.

I can see taking off 3 Days. It’s the bleeding and what you can’t eat that’s annoying.
ImpeccablyImperfect · 56-60, F
I still have mine. They don't bother me at all. :)
SociallyAwkwardGirl · 26-30, F
Lol why do you need to miss work for 3 days for wisdom teeth removal. That’s bullshit.
I have my bottom ones but I’m not getting them pulled. They don’t extract them unless necessary
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@SociallyAwkwardGirl haha because my coworker is a wuss that’s why and lazy lol and I see I’m getting some great feedback on this thanks and the humor 😂
Tminus6453 · M

LaLumieri · 51-55, F

sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M

GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
@sighmeupforthat he’s a clown for other reasons . He’s a moron in general and yes I’m a sports fan but hate politics don’t care for it I find it utterly boring
themindmistress · 41-45, F
Your wisdom teeth cam be impacted in your jaw and they may never surface totally normal.
