I'm curious to know what ridiculous name will come up if you translate some of the animals species from your native language to English.

In e.g.

1.Ikan lumba-lumba (dolphin) : racing fish.

2. Siput babi (land snail) : pig snail 😂

LOL when we are out on a safari and people from abroad stop to ask what animals we 've seen and where, we always look at one another and laugh
for secretly we always wonder
should we go there?
translate the animals names like that
just to see how they'd react lolol

thanks for BA

What is your native language?

@samueltyler2 oh that's wonderful to know so many languages! It sure comes in handy when you're travelling! :D

@mistfox I don't know the languages, I can get myself from here to there, find bathrooms and take a medical history.

@samueltyler2 ah..you mean the basic important words. 😁 I should follow your example. Before I travel to foreign country, I should learn few basic, important words. This will definitely comes in handy! :)

I’m sure I read that seeing a white owl means someone is going to die. I can’t remember where. I will have a look
mistfox · 36-40, F
Oh dang... When I was studying in my uni, there's this huge white owl that likes to swoop over our heads when we walk back from the night class. We call it Hedwig.

I can’t find what I read about white owls now. I found this though : Native American Owl Mythology. In most Native American tribes, owls are a symbol of death. Hearing owls hooting is considered an unlucky omen, and they are the subject of numerous 'bogeyman' stories told to warn children to stay inside at night or not cry too much, otherwise the owl may carry them away.
