I’m sure I read that seeing a white owl means someone is going to die. I can’t remember where. I will have a look

Oh dang... When I was studying in my uni, there's this huge white owl that likes to swoop over our heads when we walk back from the night class. We call it Hedwig.

I can’t find what I read about white owls now. I found this though : Native American Owl Mythology. In most Native American tribes, owls are a symbol of death. Hearing owls hooting is considered an unlucky omen, and they are the subject of numerous 'bogeyman' stories told to warn children to stay inside at night or not cry too much, otherwise the owl may carry them away.
