Sort of reminds me of the Edmund Burke famous quote “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”. Now speaking up or remaining silent is not the same as “doing” or not doing, but the implication is clear. For me however, I honestly try the quick evaluation, the reward vs consequences that I bet everyone does. If it isn’t going to really affect me or my family and friends, I would rather not get involved even if the fight is a noble one.
