SW-User
60 hours a week.. ive use to work 2 jobs putting around 80 hours a week. so 60 wont be too bad.
CaptainCanadia · 41-45, M
I'll take 200k at 40 hours a week. All about that work/life balance.
Kinopio · 26-30, T
@CaptainCanadia how about work hard, save the money and retire early?
CaptainCanadia · 41-45, M
@Kinopio 200k is a lot of money and I could retire early on that, I make 80k and I'm doing pretty well. People work a lot harder for a lot less.
SW-User
200k is already 4 times what I make with 50 hour weeks:O

60 a week, earn and then look for little less stressful job
MarineBob · 56-60, M
depends how much ones needs the money
Trevo · 26-30, M
The first option implies working 12hours per day, supposing one doesn't work on Saturdays. That's like too much. On the other hand you make $600k more than by choosing the second option.

Personally $800k/month is more than enough for me. So second option is better.

@SW-User You get 150k more for just 20 hours, very big difference.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Both. There would be other factors involved, such as the type of work, how much I enjoy it and am competent at it, how much potential for advancement there is, how much I like management and my coworkers, etc. All things being equal, I'd take the $350K for 60 hours a week for the first 15-20 years, live on $60-80K and bank the rest, and then work at $200K for the rest of my working career. By banking and investing most of the $350K, I'd be able to retire in my early 50s with plenty of time for enjoyment and retirement.

I am only good for the 40 hr per week any way so I would have to make due. :-)

The 60 hrs would do just fine :)
Kinopio · 26-30, T
