I think so. Scots are a different people than the English. Both nations have existed for over a thousand years and have only been politically united for a bit over 300 years. What kept the union together were 1) a common enemy on the continent (first France and then Germany), 2) the common Protest religion and 3) the empire with its opportunites for the Scots (many explorers, settlers and officials in the British Empire were Scots). There is no more enemy on the continent, the influence of religion has declined dramatically and the empire is gone. All these developments have started or accelerated in the last 50 years and in the same period the Scottish National Party has increased in size and votes. No coincidence for sure.
I think there were will be a peaceful seperation some when this century.

It's a non-winnable argument.
A catch-22.
You're either reliant on England or the E:U.
Neither is independence.

Don't misunderstand me, personally i've no thought either way.
But an awful lot of things would have to happen in order for Scotland to be financially independent from either !

Of course but it still can't be called a catch 22. It is a pretty easy choice.
I would like to think so but I think there is still a fear from the older generation voters.

That is the unfortunate truth. Too many either patriotic Brits or just scared of change.

The arrogant English artitude about Brexit will tend to push the Scots that way

I am starting to doubt we will see it anytime soon. It will happen eventually though.
