many people find strength and comfort in times of difficulty in faith (be that in flying spaghetti monsters, one or more god(s), nature, or many and varied other possibilities). so good as in it helps you get through difficulties, perhaps. good as in you ask Buddha for new airplane, a plastic rocket, and he delivers it within a week, probably not.

It really doesn't matter what people worship. People have the desire and need to channel their inner selves into a higher power greater than themselves. It helps give a sense of guidance, peacefulness, and humility.

However a lot of people get caught up in what's called an ego trap. Instead of accepting and respecting others way that they chose to go about connecting with a higher power. They will pass judgment and disbelief that there is more than one way to channel ones inner self to connect with an energy or life force bigger than themselves other than their own.

The only good that comes out of worshipping something, doesn't matter what, is the peace of mind. I don't worship anything as such, like no rituals or anything, but i love Nature and i find it peaceful. I listen to Christian worship songs coz they bring peace when i struggle with my mind, they tell what no one else tells me, what i need to hear in the moment...and then life is a little bit more bearable, little bit more livable again..for a while atleast.
I have worshipped a tree once coz a friend told me it will lessen the guilt i had, so i worshipped the tree and asked for forgiveness. I was desperate at that time. Now i just look at Nature and feel peaceful. Don't need to do anything or become something for Nature, it accepts and lets me be the way i am.

Not sure that worshipping anything does any good. More like faith in practice can be useful. Charity, compassion etc
