I met this guy ..he said he worships nature and rain, trees.. stuffs like that. So does worshipping those really do something good?

It really doesn't matter what people worship. People have the desire and need to channel their inner selves into a higher power greater than themselves. It helps give a sense of guidance, peacefulness, and humility.

However a lot of people get caught up in what's called an ego trap. Instead of accepting and respecting others way that they chose to go about connecting with a higher power. They will pass judgment and disbelief that there is more than one way to channel ones inner self to connect with an energy or life force bigger than themselves other than their own.
