Jiffy Lube Just Announced My Van Isn't A Priority

I'm sitting in a Jiffy Lube right now, with my van in bay two. All women crew. I just head one cuss the other out saying bay two isn't a priority right now and to get back to it later.

😒

NEVER go to Jiffy Lube.... they can make a huge mess for you... like.... leaking oil filters and what have you!
@heavyone2 I think I have equal chance of getting ripped off no matter where I go.

They said I have to change out my transmission fluid and I have a mysterious leak they can't figure out where it is coming from. Gotta figure out how to get that done without my van being held overnight at a shop.

@Dignaga Well,, I have had problems at Jiffy lube myself. Watched on the Ipad monitor as the service tech took a hammer and "knocked the wrench" into my drain plug and stripped it out! Then he said... "your drain plug is stuck and looks like it may be stripped out".....
@heavyone2 Injecting Sawdust was a common tactic by mechanics back when I was a kid. Thing is, my stepfather was a useless photographer. He didn't pass on any automotive skills to me, all I got are red room photography skills, and that's so useless today. I can top off the wiper fluid, and check a dipstick. I learned that from my old humvee in the army. Beyond that I don't know squat and know I don't know so I gotta go along with what someone else says. I expect to get screwed someday, but if I tried doing it myself, it would be broken.

@Dignaga Hey, you are never to old to learn as long as you have the physical capability! Changing oil isn't "rocket science" but the dealerships will make you think it is.....but thats bs. But just watch what the service places do....and check the reps first.. some are good , others are NOT. I "bought" my lesson at jiffy lube.
@heavyone2 I live in my minivan and don't want to keep a pan for it to drip out for space and hygiene reasons, or lay on winter asphalt, and I wouldn't know what to do with the oil once it is out of the van. Any repairs I learn will have to be stuff I can do stickly under the hood, not lying under the van.

@Dignaga Oh.. ok...can understand that. Hard to do service work that way for sure, especially in winter and brutal summer on hot pavement. Just keep an eye on the quick change oil service places... it costed me a fair penny.
