We have a new girl at work. Cute. Sweet. Runs track.

And when my son learned she ran track he bragged about how fast of a runner he is.

He failed to mention that he didn’t run anymore though…hasn’t run in years because he’s prone to his knee cap slipping out of place. So, what did my genius kid do?

He called her outside and said the fateful words…”Watch this.”

I knew nothing of this happening otherwise I would’ve stopped it. Naturally he blows his knee cap out of place and lands on the pavement. By the time I got the word, he was in tears and fighting a panic attack due to the pain from his knee cap taking some finesse to get back into place, as well as scrapes on his palms and a really huge, gnarly scrape on his knee that hurt more than his other knee where the initial injury occurred.

The very noticeable slipping of his knee cap back into place was enough to make most of our coworkers leave the scene, but the owner had just made her way out there and asked what happened.

Her: “Hunny, you can’t go impressing a girl by running. You know better.”

Him with tears running down his face: “…Worth it.”

We all busted out laughing, including him.

But, yeah. Have kids. It’s fun 🙄

I ran track once in high school. Even hurdles! 🚧

Then I became an adult, and ate too much food. My job is sedentary. I got rather large. I never exercised.

Then I got diabetes and numb feet, and then flesh eating bacteria in the back of my neck which spread to my spine. I lost my ability to walk. I was in the hospital a month for several surgeries to remove dead flesh and patch the gap with a skin graft cut from my leg! Then I was in a rehab home few weeks surrounded by miserable old people crying out into the darkness.

I used a walker for two months. I can walk now, but I am wobbly. I cannot jog. My toes are still numb.

I hope your son feels better. I have a used walker in my closet if he needs one. 😁 My mom got it at the Goodwill for $5. I should donate it back!

While I never ran track. I can attest we're not always at our finest when we're trying to impress a girl. 🤭 🤦‍♂
Yep, been there. Good times. 😃

Male hormones at work. I won`t say that I haven`t been there. 🙄

Something I totally would have done 🙋🏻‍♂

Oh, boys. 😄 Glad he felt it was worth it. Hope he’s ok!

@ChampagneOnIce He’s okay. He’s still embarrassed a little, but at least he gets a pass on working today since standing’s a bit too much right now. I really want to check in on the girl though. Want to make sure she doesn’t feel responsible for any of it. Hopefully I’ll see her tonight.

Yeah that's what Danny Zuko thought so too and look where it landed him..... With the girl. 😉
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
lol this is funny but also upsetting!

So, did he get the date? 👀😅
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@Notsimilarreally Nope, bless his heart 😆
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@PerfectionOfTheHeart aww. That’s the type of thing that would win me over before the all star mister perfect jock. I’d think it was so cute that he tried! There’s a girl out there that will appreciate the clumsiness and effort 😊

@Keeper Ok we don't need to hear about your glorified heydays at the Curling club.

(100% a joke)

Awwwww. Poor guy had his pride trampled on.
We males are full of energy when it comes to foolishness especially when we're trying to impress.
This is why men have a lower life expectancy than women. 😅
