We have a new girl at work. Cute. Sweet. Runs track.
And when my son learned she ran track he bragged about how fast of a runner he is.
He failed to mention that he didn’t run anymore though…hasn’t run in years because he’s prone to his knee cap slipping out of place. So, what did my genius kid do?
He called her outside and said the fateful words…”Watch this.”
I knew nothing of this happening otherwise I would’ve stopped it. Naturally he blows his knee cap out of place and lands on the pavement. By the time I got the word, he was in tears and fighting a panic attack due to the pain from his knee cap taking some finesse to get back into place, as well as scrapes on his palms and a really huge, gnarly scrape on his knee that hurt more than his other knee where the initial injury occurred.
The very noticeable slipping of his knee cap back into place was enough to make most of our coworkers leave the scene, but the owner had just made her way out there and asked what happened.
Her: “Hunny, you can’t go impressing a girl by running. You know better.”
Him with tears running down his face: “…Worth it.”
We all busted out laughing, including him.
But, yeah. Have kids. It’s fun 🙄
