Does anyone else avoid negative content or conversations before going to bed?

Bc of its impact on the subconscious mind, ofc if you're detached from it that's different

I have been having a real hard time getting the images of the recent Texas School massacre out of my head. Especially at night.
Imaging what those children went through, watching their friends being...
Wondering if they were going to...
Trying to imagine the grief of the parents
Tears come to me regularly lately.

@Gusman at the risk of sounding insensitive, it's better if you stop checking the news all together till you feel better

@SW-User I do like to keep abreast of what is going on. I am very sensitive to grief and at the moment, I am keeping it together for the most part.
I see the sadness that is pervading society and it disheartens me immensely..

@Gusman i understand you but why would you willingly put yourself through that when you know you're not in the state to handle it

@SW-User Because it (my grief) is not debilitating and I do not really mind showing true emotion.
It shows me that even with my mostly shunning society I still have tremendous empathy.
