Southern Comfort therefore, is not a distilled whisky, but is blended to taste like a fruity whisky which is why Southern Comfort is not actually an American-made product. Only the recipe for it was made in the USA back in the 1800's, but the finished product can be blended and bottled anywhere in the world.
