It feels hotter in UK than abroad.

If it's like 27 degrees when I have been in Majorca and 27 degrees in the UK it still feels much hotter in the UK.
Maybe it's a different heat abroad or also being nearer the seaside?
I'm not sure.

Is 27⁰ hot to you? 😵‍💫
@Elessar It's usually humid here when it's hot.

@Elessar Wouldn’t YOU like to know, weather boy?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
The more humid the air the hotter we feel for the same temperature, because our perspiration cannot evaporate so readily.

Also, a coastal region is more likely to have breezes which will help limit our temperature a bit.

@ArishMell it is called the temperature-humidity-index .

@samueltyler2 Thankyou.

It tends not to be used in a formal way in the ordinary weather forecasts in the UK, though they often say if the air will very humid. As we often notice by the haze.

Warnings of high pollen loads are common though.
