There's great Italian food there. Just walk the North End section and let your nose decide. If you're big on history, head to the Union Oyster House. One of, if not the oldest restaurants in the country. Boston is a great walking city. And while it is touristy, the walking history tour is cool
@ChampagneOnIce Omg, I love reading old grave stones. The Granary cemetery has Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Paul Revere, and others.
And letting your nose guide you in the North End is sound advice. Not many bad meals to be had there. Some are pricey though. Check the menu on the way in. ;)
If you can manage to take the Red Line across the river to Cambridge, then Harvard Sq, Harvard Yard, and the Harvard museums are a little less touristy. And if you're tech minded, the MIT museum is pretty cool.
@ChampagneOnIce The MIT museum is probably one of the coolest things to see in Boston (Cambridge), but you gotta be at least a little geeky to appreciate it fully.
it's been a while since I've lived there. Lots of history, our history, but pretty rich. Great Middle Eastern food, and schools and museums everywhere. Swing by Mystic Valley for Portuguese.
@GuyWithOpinions Boston Pizza?? You mean that Canadian chain restaurant that usurped our name? 🙄 If you want local look for Regina Pizzeria in the North End, or Santarpio's over in Eastie.
@ChampagneOnIce The JFK Library is nice, but unless you are into JFK (and a lot of people are) or something about that era in particular, it wouldn't be on my "short-visit-to-Boston" list.
One place that's really great to visit is The North End. It's the Italian section of Boston and has amazing restaurants and bakeries! The Boston Common is really nice and the Arnold Arboretum is beautiful as well to walk or stroll. If you are ever near Dedham MA, just 30 minutes south of Boston, go to the Brick House cafe. Just delicious food ! And there's a mini golf right across from it. Although I'm unsure if they are closed for the season. 🙂
@Baybreeze Thank you! I’ll be in the North End tomorrow and am looking forward to some delicious Italian food (although, I was in Italy two weeks ago, so it will be fun to compare 😄).
@ChampagneOnIce I went to Italy once too and while their food was amazing, the Italian food in Boston is absolutely delicious too 🤤Even though it's a bit outside of the city, the Brickhouse cafe is just perfect for Italian food! The owner is from Italy🙂
