Sooooo my cunt of a friend checked us in for our flight without asking me

She stuck me in a fucking middle seat for the two eight hour flights which I can’t sit in cause of my neck back and elbow from the crash. Ethihad won’t change y seats because they’re already selected unless I pay 50€ per flight which I don’t have. It’s so fucking shit I can’t cope. My insurance company won’t answer me to let me cancel my flights. I’m so over this trip I just can’t I want to die. It was bad enough the person in the phone had no fucking English and I’ve taken about four panic attacks in the last few hours I can’t cope. I want to die.

Wait till 23 hours or less before the departure and try rebooking the seat online via the airline web site. For that, you will need the booking reference (also called PNR), usually a combination of 6 numbers and letters.

If that fails, go early to the check-in counter and explain to the check-in staff that you want to change seats. Best would be if you could get a medical certificate stating that you need an aisle or window seat due to health reasons.

Cancel the flight and rebook another flight by yourself if you can afford it.
Do not tell your friend. Simply do not turn up for the flight.

@Gusman The ticket is probably non refundable given that she cannot change her seat unless she pays a fee. More expensive tickets will allow for changes but since she cannot change, I assume it is one of those tickets that come with a lot of restrictions and refunds or even partial refunds are not possible.

@Medoesnotcare OH that is SO fucking trash. I would be dropping that person as a friend. At the VERY least she could have been like hey, I booked you in the middle seat the way there and I'll sit there the way back, something like that. OR she books you both in a window and aisle and yes she has to sit beside a stranger, that's life...take a pill and deal with it -__-

@MrBlueGuy it’s not even that it’s just I said it to her before checking in that my neck is in bits from the car crash and could she make sure I was at a window so people aren’t pushing past me constantly because I’m in agony but she did it anyways to suit herself. Like I made a point of saying idm sitting on my own once people aren’t pushing past me and im not stuck in the middle with my head forced back ( I’ve soft tissue injuries in my neck and shoulder and can’t move my head back or to the right) but she did it anyway.
