What’s the furthest north you’ve ever been?

I’ve been inside the arctic circle in Finland at a latitude of 67.8N. Mainland Europe doesn’t extend much more than that but in Canada and Russia there are more options.

Perhaps one day I’ll make it to Svalbard to go polar bear and whale watching. They have great vodka and saunas up there too.

Been to Barrow Alaska , the northernmost point in the North American continent . It was 38F/3C in August ! Been to the Arctic twice, including this past summer. Also been to Reykjavik, but that’s south of Arctic .

@samueltyler2 never heard of it. I was in barrow in 2017 after seeing the vampire film “30 days of night “ (and Fairbanks this past summer ). Iceland was April of 2016 and I did the golden circle .

@AthrillatheHunt It is the northern most city in Iceland. I lived in Keflavik for 2 years, serving in the US Navy from 1970-72. The golden circle is a magnificent trip. The hot springs and the falls, amazing.

@samueltyler2 yess did geyser and gulfoss. The topography reminded me of mars (Iceland is an infant in terms of it being a geographical land mass ). Thanks for serving ya salty sea dog!
