I'd like to do that, but not on a bus or train. I'd like to drive it myself. By driving it myself, I can see all that I want to see and stop whenever I want at the places I choose.

I got on the train in Virginia, four days later, I was in California. The best thing I've ever experienced!!

Sounds like fun
I would love to hop on a train right now and go far far away ✨

@metaldog "So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” ― Christopher McCandless

@Freeindeed most people live pay check to pay check. If they don't work they may not have the money to eat food or pay a bill on time so they can't just jump on a train and ride it for 12 hour's

no, we just get to sit in our homes all day and look in a computer.

@nobodyishome That is really sad and quite dystopian. If what you said was written in a dystopian novel a couple of decades ago, people would have been horrified reading it. I mean, I still am horrified reading it. Humans are being turned into computer terminals to be hacked by the system. This is the beginning of the rest of the future now, that from now on there will simply be all these robots walking around, feeling nothing, thinking nothing, and there’ll be nobody left almost to remind them that there once was a species called a human being, with feelings and thoughts, and that history and memory are right now being erased and soon nobody will really remember that life existed on the planet.
