I spent over 30 years traveling to both coasts and a few places in between, mostly alone. I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't mind it. I managed to get a lot of writing done on the long flights. I always felt safe. The best part was always when we started the descent into Houston's Hobby Airport and I could see the street lights of familiar neighborhoods. I was home.
