Runaway to Vegas?

Whats the general thought from any who LIVES in Vegas or has in recent years?

What would I need to know?

I can't speak to living there but I have worked there a fair amount and all I would suggest is that if it's something you're thinking about, and have never been, you really need to get there first before making a decision. Not just for the vibe, which is different, but for the weather. Average high in the summer is well over 100 degrees.

@whowasthatmaskedman Yeah. It's definitely different. It's built up a lot, and there's more "typical" neighborhoods, but it always feels like there's a cloud of despair over that place. It's clearly right for some, and that's cool, but if I can help it I don't intend on ever going back. Doesn't work for me.

@Ynotisay The nearest I can equate it to is a theme park for adults. A real trip for the visitors (if thats your thing) But those working there are putting on an act.😷

Is it true that Las Vegas is tax free or is that all of Nevada?

@Adrianax A previous boss I worked for spent some time in Vegas, thats where I heard it from. I don' t think I would mind the heat much.

it looks pretty bland and suburban outside of the strip but real estate is cheap. all the glitz and glamour is a facade.

@StygianKohlrabi where do you live now because I live in some places with $$$ REAL ESTATE, never did I think the real estate market there is "cheap" at least not for my standard of what Id want..

But for a runaway adventure I doubt ill be buying unless its too good to pass up lol

@Adrianax well for that it's OK. you can find good deals on hotels sometimes.

I was told by people who live there that it's a bargain place to live in this part of the country.

I live near San Fran. so it would be cheap for me.
