Calstock Viaduct, Devon , Cornwall border . Victorian engineering.

It brought Edwardian tourists to the Devon-Cornwall border where they could, among other delights, sample the best pineapples grown anywhere in the British Isles 🍍🍍🍍

@Convivial There is a little micro-climate in the Tamar Valley and exceptionally fertile soil. A lot of soft fruit used to be grown there. If global warming works out nicely I may invest in a smallholding 👩🏻‍🌾

@devonman Brunell, both father and sun, were great engineers... Just don't mention the Great Western....
From a time when function and aesthetics went hand in hand.

I’ve been across that bridge many times, in another life.

Everlasting beauty!

I think I prefer the Tamar bridge, not so deep and lovely cream teas.
devonman · 61-69, M
@Uncfred I love both .
