As a female adult traveller apparently still in my youth I hate always being interrogated by the border staff

Since in my early 20s, whenever I travel to western countries, the immigration staff at the border would question me in the way that as if I come for illegal purposes, and I hate it. I know they do it to all other female from other continents travelling with visitor visa, and that it is necessary to do so because there are so many illegal immigrants from those other countries, but it really feels bad, uncomfortable, to be assumed you are a suspect or even criminal, or prostitute in the first place. I have met an officer who showed full despise in his face, because at that time I was a student taking a christmas holiday going to the UK only for a week, he asked me where I got my money from to pay for my trip. Hey, spending 1 week abroad even in the UK didn’t cost a lot! The officer showed so much emotion of digust and anger. He himself was even more coloured than I am, perhaps once an immigrant himself too, it‘s over-reacting of him to show so much hatred to foreign visitors.

Sadly the UK has a real problem with illegal immigration so everyone is treated with suspicion. So sorry you had to experience this .

@allygator18 if you are renting an apartment, you also need to provide your name and ID document. I think that‘s fair. They want to make sure that they could receive the payment, and from the right person.

at least they are not asking what do you do, how much money you make a year, what do your parents do, etc. such much more private questions.

@allygator18 I agree those questions are way too personal, that s why i hate being asked those questions or more by the immigration staff when I travel.
