Far north enough that you can sometimes see the Aurora Borealis.
Every time I'm up there, it's a surreal experience. Always something wonderous, and unexpected.
It was so cold one evening, watching stars, I caught what looked like tiny shards of glass shimmering around me.
They were facets of ice crystals, not snow, shimmering like a rainbow in the air.

Fargo, North Dakota. Which I thought was blah. I would like to head up north more toward the eastern Minnesota/Wisconsin border though. Just preferably in the fall. 😄
Canuckle · 51-55, M
I should post my Arctic Circle certificate.
I’ve been to where no trees grow,
sun never sets,
light appears only in the horizon,
temperatures cold but hearts so warm,
people sharing all they can give, and
a beautiful glow dances across the sky.
I will go further north some day, but will I make it past Resolute Bay

For all you who are freezing 🥶 today.
Right now it's 76° and my Air Conditioner is on. Forecast high is for 83° @ 2pm.
Come on down to South Louisiana 🐊🥳🎉 Mardi Gras Parades and all the Festivities are starting up!

Somewhere over the Arctic. I was on a flight from Texas to Korea. The airport at Inchon itself was worth it.
Lilymoon · F
@Crazywaterspring where is Inchon?
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Lilymoon Korea. We flew in and left at night. Korea is lit up. The ocean is lit up. China is lit up. The dark area is North Korea. Creepy.
Lilymoon · F
@Crazywaterspring Wow.

To the Canadian border fishing the lakes of northern Minnesota. (But I had to check a map when another poster mentioned Seattle as I'd been there too)

@Lilymoon Why sad face? I kept about 200# of meat each time and donated the rest to the local Inuit villages for the benefit of the old and disabled. That's about 600# pounds of meat each time.......not counting bones. That goes a long ways to getting people thru a hard winter in those villages that can no longer hunt.
Lilymoon · F
@anythingoes477 yeah that's cool....I just felt bad for the moosies 😁
I think the furthest North I've ever been would have been Thunder Bay haha

Lilymoon · F
@Lumberjack70 Whitehorse... Watson Lake is the Yukon right?
Lumberjack70 · 56-60, M
@Lilymoon yes it is. I was fighting forest fires. I hear Whitehorse is pretty cool.
Lilymoon · F
@Lumberjack70 Oh wow. cool... and yeah I was there as a kid. It was beautiful.

Not sure which is more North, either Southern Canada or northern Germany.

Two different continents. I would have to check the different latitudes an a map. Now the most southern is easy. I was south of the equator on Diego Garcia although I did stop by in Malaysia.

Either Jasper in Canada or Dunnet Head in Scotland (most northerly point of UK), whichever is further north.
