Yes, to my mom's hometown.

I think I would return to the town where I was born, just to have a little closure.

@Stereoguy We crossed into Canada a couple of years ago and one in our party had an outdated passport. So when son-in-law handed the stack of passports to the Canadian gate tender he put the expired one at the bottom.
It didn't work. CAUGHT!
So, off to the waiting room and after an hour wait we got by with a gentle lecture and a warm welcome to Canada.

Road trip to the midwest with the hub. We love the scenery and open spaces.
Ride the national trail on horseback, leading a pack horse, 20 k's per day, stopping to feed and water the horses, camping at night.
For time alone, time communing with the horses and with nature.

Anywhere there is a nice beach that isn't overcrowded.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Peapod I grew up within a stone's throw of the gulf coast but somehow found myself living smack in the middle of the US with the nearest seashores 500+ miles away :(
But we do try to make it to the beaches at least every year. Over the past few summers we were able to get to South Padre, Galveston and the Alabama/Florida panhandle areas. All super crowded to the point of being uncomfortably so, and like "this wasn't a very good idea" :)
I remember South Padre was so crowded with sun-screened bodies that when I jumped into the hotel pool I felt like an oil dip stick :)
On the other hand, we did find the more laid back, beach-community type places on the north end of Padre and along the west side of Mobile Bay, the areas that vacationers drive past on their way to Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, etc.

@Heartlander The only beach I ever was at in the Gulf was Sanibel Island, just off the coast of Fort Meyers Florida. I loved it there.
We go to one of the less crowded beaches in NJ.

@Peapod Most of the Florida Gulf side beaches are wonderful. In another life I had the chance to spend an occasional week near Fort Walton Beach during the non summer seasons and loved it.
In yet another life we lived in NYC for a short period and did venture to Asbury Park and cruise the New Jersey beaches, even considered moving to that area. Also Far Rockaway on the other side of the city. As I remember, the city crowd abandoned the beaches there after the Labor Day weekend and we had the place nearly to ourselves.

I would go to Venus and die. Then, I would be both the first person to visit another planet and the first person to die on a planet other than Earth! 👌🏿

I figured I could drive to somewhere to the midwest or southwest and be a migrant farmer and live in my car. I could start a new life and never go back.
