I Have a Scar

Can a scar from a major surgery cause pain after 19 years? Sharp stabbing pain pulsing along the nerve, to be precise. 馃槕
Any experience?

Well I would go see the doctor about it just to be save.

@updown2020 I asked about it twice and I was told that it doesn't look like anything serious. The exams were alright so they didn't pay much attention to it.

@CrazyMusicLover Even though you are still in pain?
CrazyMusicLover31-35
@updown2020 It appears sporadically. I'm alright for some time, then it strikes and then stops all of the sudden.

@CrazyMusicLover Really and maybe try a different doctor maybe ask for a xray
CrazyMusicLover31-35
@updown2020 You are right. I might have kidney stones again. 馃槖 I hate this body.

@CrazyMusicLover Well maybe not a kidney stone but something worse maybe they left something in side the last time they operated yes is sounds scary but it has happened before you hope not but to be on the safe side an Xray will clear that up.

@updown2020 I've had so many x rays that it's almost impossible to spot something new now. Sometimes I think about stitch that might not come out and makes a mess. I've heard that some people saw a stitch emerge after years. But other explanations sound more likely. Like UTI or sand. When I described this pain to my grandmother some time ago she suggested that it might be "sand" in the bladder.
Right now I experience mild pain that reminds me of kidney stone pain. So that's my guess.
Oh no...not again... 馃槕

@CrazyMusicLover have you been evaluated for parathyroid disease? Do you take extra vitamin d and calcium, eat a lot of palate containing foods? All of those can lead to renal stones.
CrazyMusicLover31-35
@samueltyler2 I think my doctor mentioned that my parathyroid hormone levels were borderline again. That's why kidney stones came to my mind.
The same doctor prescribed me Vitamin D due to a deficiency. After I read that it can cause kidney stones I stopped using it for some time.
But I returned to it because when I don't use it I have troubles with mouth ulcers and I am more likely to feel down.

Luckily, I haven't felt that kind of pain since February.

I hope you are okay. I had a "girlfriend" in medical school who had a parathyroid tumor and multiple stones. Her scar from surgery was not really that bad. Don't be self conscious, I am sure that you are gorgeous. When I had my stone, almost everyone in the "stone center" had the same history. We all were diagnosed as being deficient in vitamin d and added then developed stones there after. I love spinach and ate enough to get calcium oxakate stones.

@samueltyler2 I hope too. The last thing I want to do now is going from one doctor to another again.
My scar is under my clothes most of the time so I don't even think about it. Actually, last time when a doctor asked about it I realized that I take it as a part of my body and forget that it is something uncommon for others.

Oh, that sounds like bad news. I will definitely ask my doctor about Vitamin D next time.

I am sure your doctor will not be aware that this subject is actually being discussed and the entire concept of "normal" vitamin d level is open to discussion.

Unless someone has had a stone, he or she has no idea of the pain.
CrazyMusicLover31-35
@samueltyler2 Yes, that's probable.

I was lucky that my first stone didn't cause any episode of excruciating pain.
