I can't stand it.

He's done things to hurt me ever since I was a child, even to this day. And then he always just turns right around and acts like nothing ever happened.

"If you're hungry, there's food here."

Such a simple phrase hurts so much.

I am hungry but I will not eat.

Any moment you pretend is okay, is just out of ignorance.

That kind of pain doesn’t disappear just because someone decides to act normal afterward. Sometimes the smallest phrases hurt the most because they ignore everything underneath them. I know what it’s like to have someone wound you over and over and then expect you to just sit at the table like nothing happened. That kind of pretending can make even basic kindness feel unbearable.

Please take care of yourself tonight though. You deserve food, peace, and safety even if the person who hurt you is the one offering it.
