I Am a Survivor of Child Abuse

Stained Glass
You shattered my spirit into little shards of glass, I never thought I'd ever be able, to ever put them back.
Year after year you chipped away, breaking my spirit, leaving me opened and splayed. You were not a father, a game of house is what you poorly played.
Spent all of those years trying to be tiny and small, be quiet be hidden don't be seen at all. You can not hurt what you can not see, but no matter how tiny or quiet you always found me.
Now, a woman strong am I, years of finding the glass shards, of my spirit have I. They have weathered and picked up color through the years.
No longer tiny, no longer quiet, I've put back the shards now my spirit is vibrant! A beautiful, stained glass piece of art! You tried to break me, but It just made ME!
