People who have been through real trauma, how did you get over it?

I mean something life changing that challenged or broke the way you see the world around you.

I didn't get over it, i got through it. By not dwelling on it. I accepted it, dealt with it in the moment, but i still carry it with me and always will. But rather than feeling like a heavy load i wear it as necklace, something precious, valuable and sacred. Because i realized that it made me more beautiful, i'm lucky to have experienced it even though at times it made me feel like dying.
