Have you feared of becoming your dad?

I tried my hardest to avoid becoming anything like him, but as the years kept beating my down, I'm more like him than I ever imagined possible.

On one hand, it's like being punched in the gut to realize how much you've fallen short of your aspirations. But on the other hand, it's given me a lot more empathy towards him and I'm not so bitter as I used to be regarding my childhood.

I can still safely say that I'm a better person than him in a lot of ways, but I don't know that I want to keep living like this. It's like we're only capable of becoming the type of people who've left an impact on us, and I haven't had too many positive impacts

Yes. For a long time that was my worst fear. He always said I am the one most like him.

And he was right in terms of rage.

But my life doesn't seem to reflect similar decisions to his.
