Because they have to show party solidarity at this point regardless of their thoughts. It's basic politics.
That being said they should have done this swap years ago. They didn't because they didn't actually want her but they severely miscalculated. Especially if they thought they could sneak Joe in again and then have him step down. That would have been extra goofy

@Sojournersoul Truer words were never said. Did you see Joe and Kamala on the tarmac when the hostages were brought home? Kamala was making a speech off the top of her head, (word salad), and old Joe looked like he was in intense pain. Then he turned around and got onto the same plane from which the hostages had debarked! 🤣🤣🤣
