Do you ever worry about some illness or disease you may get?

Sometimes I'll think what if I get cancer? I'm 43 and many seem to get it on their 40s or 50s 😕 Or if I have a pain in my leg or arm that's there for more than a little while I'll think what If I get ALS? It sucks having an anxiety disorder. Always wondering what wrong thing might happen.

I almost died 2 years ago so it is always on my mind. But I also feel that the time since then has been a bonus, and if it gets taken away I was still fortunate because it could have ended 2 years ago. It also has made me care less about certain trivialities of life, like cultural norms, etc.

As for health, perhaps the best cure for worry is information. It is a shame medical care is not easier and cheaper to get. See a doctor, get tested, and know one way or the other.

Had I been seeing doctors at least once every year or two, they would have detected my diabetes earlier. Had I gone to a doctor about my neck infection early, perhaps they could have treated it without having to cut way so much skin and patch it with skin cut from my leg. It has messed me up for life. But I ain't dead yet so I press on. "Get busy living, or get busy dying."

@JoyfulSilence Right it's like we want to be cautious and checked when we can to prevent things..but on the other hand for me anyway it's a lot of anxiety every year. It's the first time I ever skipped a physical last year, due to anxiety over getting my damn blood pressure checked. Im going in this year though. It's great they did find it for you though when they did. And it's a great mantra you have to press on✨ Exactly ..little things do not matter.

@Coralmist

I had high blood pressure, too. I take two pills a day and now it is lower. Yesterday it was 110/82.
