I’m worried that I have an addictive personality

I sometimes get drunk so I don’t have to face reality and I’ve been doing it more than usual. I’m a bit scared.

It’s good you recognize this now before you are in too deep. Do what you have to do for yourself before it’s too late.

Thankyou, I’m really worried, but also I don’t think I’m ready to stop, which scares me as I really don’t want to push the people I have away. I just find life a bit much. I know you’re right though. @tiltawhirl

@Strongtea if you don’t stop now then when you are ready to stop it is going to be too hard to stop without professional help. I’ve seen so many friends go down this hole. It’s hard to climb back up.

Ok thanks, I know I need to sort myself out, I’m just really scared that people will think I’m boring etc, but people are already beginning to notice my drinking. @tiltawhirl

She did seem like her advice was very much worth listening to. I suppose I do want to be really honest with everyone on here. I’m conscious about what I’m doing, some other people have mentioned it to me, I’ve been brought home by the police once for being too drunk. I do try to hide it from those around me, im not quite ready to quit as it means truly looking at who I am and the things I’ve done, but I know I need to sort myself out soon. 🥺@SomeMichGuy

@Strongtea What you have to realize is that most people have made big mistakes and did things they have regretted. They just hide that side of them. Some of the things I have done absolute make be cringe. Even still I make bad choices. It's good you can be open and honest on here and it is therapeutic to do so. The sooner you turn things around the sooner you will become someone you can feel proud of. It's not easy. It will not at all be easy. But don't even think you are a bad person because you have made bad decisions because that is literally everyone.
