Are you a environmental and or animal rights activist?

Do you really care though?

I'm a lot less hardcore than in my earthfirst! days of sabotaging bulldozers and chaining myself to trees,but yeah - I still care.I eventually bought a car ,learned to live indoors and buy a few consumer goods here and there (though almost always used) and I still manage to clean up beaches and plant a few hundred trees a year...Why do you ask? Because movements are rife with hypocrites? There's very little shame in my game. I do eat animals,but not every day.

Trees and Dolphins talked to me when I was young and lit up on LSD and so I try to help them out and undo some of the sickening damage my species has achieved.It 'effin hurts.

@dubkebab I ask because I don't believe there are many that truly care.
Don't get me wrong if you are doing something positive great but as you said there are hypocrites.
I try not to waste food.
But I have found more recently food spoiling before I've had a chance to even eat it.
Fresh fruit and veg.
So that really yanks my chain.
I eat meat. I can't afford not to health wise.
I tried being a pescatarian, winding down to becoming a veggie. But despite taking so many supplements my stats declined.
So I'm back on meat.

@Mellowgirl I can dig it,and I appreciate where you're coming from.
Putting guilt on the consumer is a propaganda con.The entire system is rigged to benefit corporate bottom lines=profit above sustainability.They do little more than parrot ideas about ecology whilst pumping out the chemicals and single use plastic crap.
We had an unusually hot summer last year,during what is now known as 'fire season' (as in raging forest fires) my friend turns to me and says..."enjoy the coolest summer of the rest of your life..." yeah,that stuck with me. We're in for a wild ride,regardless of hipster's opinions or choices in the coffee line.

@dubkebab it hurts to care, as we grow in our capacity we get rewarded with more awareness, responsibility...and more need
